As I sat beneath the 2026 Sagittarius blue moon, watching the sky, throwing my blue dogs ball, I remembered the process of light painting. My father, who taught me everything I know about photography, used this process to demonstrate the difference in exposure settings and show me how cameras absorb light.
I began experimenting again with this process of painting with light, armed with a zippo lighter and a headlamp. I set my long exposure and the images captured the energy I was feeling in a way that felt magic.
it may be a result of my astrological chart, heavily sagittarius ruled, but these dancing flame photos perfectly encapsulated the resurgance of energy i felt under the firey moon. This hot, creative energy has carried me through all of the dark times in my life. I see it glow through the dark night of these still images.
